Killer Be Killed
Introduction
Supergroups aren't always the greatness that the members would seem to make. In my opinion, I'm not sure that Killer Be Killed is as "great" as their members. But I do like them a lot.
Greg Puciato (The Dillinger Escape Plan) and Max Cavalera (Soulfly, Sepultura) started the band with Troy Sanders (Mastodon) on bass/vocals and Dave Elitch (The Mars Volta) on drums. Later on the line up changed; Elitch was replaced by Ben Koller (Converge). Also guitarist Juan Montoya (Torche) was also added to the live line-up.
Stylistically, they are a good melding of each of the members. That doesn't always go well, but I think Max Cavalera is an amazing collaborative musician. Without knowing the other bands, I would say they land on the progressive side of groove metal. They have their intensity and energy of their own. But it's not out there nor do you need to make sure you're fully rested to enjoy.
