Max Cavalera left Sepultura in 1996 and formed Soulfly in 1997. But at the time I wasn't paying attention. I thank a colleague for bringing them to my attention. Max and crew have been steadily putting out albums, and I've got a lot to catch up on.
I've got the albums Soulfly (1998), Omen (2010), and Totem (2022). All of them are really cool, and I hated to take them off my main music page. I have to write some more at some point. I will say that they are staying on the current listening playlists.
