What to say about Tool...? Well, when they first came out and I started listening to them, I would not have called them metal. Definitely heavy and complex, emotional in their own way. And intellectual at the same time. Which are the reasons I've followed them for so long. Certainly artsy and not expressly math-rock-ish nor prog-ish. Now, I guess, they fall into prog-metal and/or post-metal. Listening to their songs is a ride, an ebb and flow, as well as a crashing too, when it makes sense.
