Introduction
The Pixies are one of the original alternative bands. Back when national acts were "regular" rock even when alternative bands toured nationally. I guess, technically, since they formed in 1986, they were more "middle-era" alternative rock. Anyways, they were great songwriters. Their songs had an ebb and flow; often moving between loud/distorted and quieter/cleaner parts. They are also a band that I almost regret each time I listen to them that I did not put them into my first circle.
