Introduction
Jinjer is a band that got on my radar because they are considered "djent". The more I listen to bands in that "genre", the more I realize it is a collection of characteristics that feel arbitrary. Search around for comments from Misha Mansoor and others that get labeled djent.
Anyway, Jinjer fits, their music often has those characteristics, though not always. And I have respect for most progressive metal bands. I like some of the pieces of what Jinjer writes. I certainly don't mind listening to their music and may return to listening to them more. I'm not going to do a deep dive at this point.
